After reading through Tommy's thread regarding spirituality, the New Age, and psychic phenomena, I thought it would be a good idea to form a psychic development circle.
Basically, we would help each other develop our psychic abilities through advice posted here on the boards, anecdotes of our experiences etc. etc.
Anyone interested?

I've often wished I had some psychic abilities but don't really think I do. But I'll keep an eye on this board to see if I can learn anything.

OK, guess i'll start.
Well, currently I'm in the process of developing empathy, clairaudience, psychometry, and clairsencience.
Psychically speaking, empathy is the ability to feel what another person is feeling. For instance, for some empaths a friend's illness or headache would, in turn, trigger a headache temporarily in them. Clairaudience is the ability to hear things from other planes.
Psychometry is the ability to hold an object in your hand and sense its energy, i.e. if a sword was used in battle, one might touch it and be able to pick up its history etc. Finally, clairsencinece si the ability to sense things, at least in my experience, energies of buildings, vibes, if you will.
Well, for my daily practice, I usually ground, shield, center, and talk to my spirit guides. Groundin, shielding, and centering are very important because it keeps you from picking up on everyone's energy. Furthermore, centering, at least for me, allows me to get a good grip on who I am as a person and avoid being influenced negatively.
Although I was a bit hesitant at first ot address this, it si important. As well as the above benefits, grounding, shielding, and centering and connecting with one's spirit guides and angels hlps to protect oneself from negative entities. Not all of those in the astral realm have our highest intentions in mind. In other words, before oding any psychic work, it's absolutely essential that you ground, shield, and center first.

I mentioned the negative entitiy thing just so that everyone has a good perspective. Just be careful when you're exploring out there. :)

hmm, psychometry has always been natural for me. as have many p sixth sence style abilities.
I agree that grounding shielding and centering will give you a much safer experience though. though often I just doo miner shielding of my soul (centering it inside a protective kind of shield and linking it to my body) I've always found it easy to sepperate my self from other energies and not many of them really affect me.)
But for new c comers, ground, shield and center until you're comfortable enough with your self, body, soul and all that links them.
Yes, i would definitely agree. Until you learn to maintain the shields on an ongoing basis, be sure to always siheld, center and ground before doing any psychic work. I would also suggest getting to know your spirit guides and angels, too. They will be your greatest allies in this physical world and in others.
A tip that I've learnt is to trust your intuition when coming into contact with spirits. One thing that is extremely important to know is that no matter how powerful you may think yourself to be, the spirits always, just like us, have free will. You are not above your spirit guides, and your spirit guides are not above you. The way I see it is working together with them to achieve the highest good for everyone involved. It really never hurts to tell your spirit guides and angels how grateful you are for their guidance and protection, and it never hurts to let them support you and help you either.

I came into my abilities early on in life at age 2 or so, from t that point I worked closely with my guides, but now with the work we doo, its best we fly solo, we use forms of comunication of corse but we don't actively work together on everything. we all work as a sqquad though.
Y But I do totally agree, your will isn't the moste powerful thing in any situation, you always have will to will conflict and such, diferent goals are trying to be acheeved in the reality always and there is never any su s way to be p apsolutely sure of what you're trying to doo.

i've wanted to get closer to my guide, and i've been able to feel emotions for a long time now
Well, specifically, what have you discovered about the nature of spirit guides in the astral world? How is it different from the physical world?
they have their own personalities, their own everything, and I have found that there are different ways to thank them, for the humans, share a meal with them, don't ask, just let them into you so they can enjoy the fruits of the spirit world as well. for the animal guides, do something out in nature, run, swim, bike, just lay under the sun or something like that, it doesn't have to be something big, but still. it never hurts. I can say so much, but this is the only thing I will say.

OK, so in order to develop our psychic abilities, I think that it would be nice ot chat on a Skype conference. A Skype conference would allow us to write notes and things ot each other for future reference.
What are you guys's thoughts?

what we need to do is find someone who is good at this, well, everyone is good at different things, me, traveling in spirit world, but yeah. so... but someone's idea of how to do something might not agree with everyone, or oppinions might differ.
True, but differing opinions are always welcome just so long as everyone's responsible and teaches only what they feel would be the safest for everyone.
My thing would probably be empathy and talking ot spirit guides, perhaps.

oh wow, I'm so sorry for not having discovered this topic! There is a lot to say...
1. With regards to spirit guides, I have tried valuently to contact myne without luck. I think I'm afraid of my guides. What if they'll give me some kind of grave warning and I'll be scared for life? What if... well they are evil entities?
I kind of do want to at least communicate and contact them but I'm so scared on what they have to say... And now that I know of the law of attraction (you create your reality and your thoughts are powerful), it would appear that thinking this probably means that my guides will give me something to be scared about. Which I don't want!

I've done energy chaneling to a basic level. Thanks for that link! Great ideas. I cannot read energies though from objects, which is a bit sad. You see, again it's my fear... Same with telepathy. I can communicate with a person, but cannot receive their communications. I'm also excellent with picking up on emotions from others, even at a distance.

But I will try and keep up with this board to give all of you advice on what I know and learn from everyone. United we stand, seperated we fall.
To tomy, your spirit guides shouldn't give you anything bad, there there to help you and guide you through your life and with your abilities.
I'm wondering if we can create a private conth on zbp? That'd work best for me and I'm also in mountain time. Just a question, sence I'm completly blind, how do I contact my spirit guides? This is all new to me, and I've resently gotten in to it.
I can do a little telepathy with certain people, and might be able to feel different emotions.
Hi Tommy and welcome!
Your fear of spriti guides is understandable - we fear what we don't understand. However, as Devon has stated above, there is really nothing to fear. spirit guides are there to guide, help, and sometimes, protect us.
Guides often communicate to us in different ways. It all depends on what your primary and secondary psychic senses are. Mine just happens to be clairaudience, or clear hearing, and claircognizance, or clear knowing.
In clairaudienc, my guides will communicate to me through thoughts that I get in my head or hearing voices, sort of, something akin to hearing your mother's voice reminding you to pay your bills on time.
Claircognizance, for me at least, comes in the form fo just knowing something. I will often suprise myself by saying something to someone and then wondering where that knowledge came from.
so, my advice to you if you'd like to communicate with your spriit guides is to figure out what your primary and secondary senses are.
Or, here's a meditation/visualization you could try that I've used myself.
Find a place in your house or whatever where you will not be disturbed.
First, seat yourself comfortably in a chair with both of your feet flat on the floor.
Next, close your eyes and inhale slowly, letting your abdomen and chest expand. Exhale slowly and relax every muscle in your body. If the room is completely silent, focus on the silence and feel all your worries/anxieties flow out of you with each exhalation.
Upon inhalation, focus on relaxing as much fo your body as possible, letting all tensions go on the breath out.
Once you feel that the clamor of thoughts, worries and emotions in both your mind and heart have quited down sufficiently, ask God ro other divine being to be with you in contacting your spirit guides.
Take yourself mentally to a place where you are surrounded by the wonders of nature--a garden, a sandy, white beach beside the vast ocean, or just in your own backyard.
Listen, watch, and observe your surroundings in this place and invite your spirit guides to meet you here. It is important that you use as many of your senses in observing this place as possible as this will aid you in further developing not only your imagination but your skill for visualization.
To those who may be hesitant to contact your spirit guides, before doing this visualization, ask God to protect you and knwo taht He will do so. This god can be any divine being you believe in etc.
Yeah, a ZBP conference would be good. However, it's gonna have to wait till the twelfth or after because I can't seem to access ZBP where i'm at.
